Lachenmeier Monsun was founded in 1952 as a machinery factory delivering single machines – chain conveyors and grain dryers to feed and grain industry. These first deliveries formed the technical foundation for how we still work today: practical design, mechanical reliability, and reliability for performance.
As industrial requirements evolved, so did our scope. We were increasingly involved in more complex and demanding tasks, where individual machines were no longer sufficient. Step by step, we expanded our expertise by designing complete bulk handling systems and taking responsibility for how equipment interacts within a process. This development was driven by application knowledge gained directly from operating plants - not by standardization.
Over time, Lachenmeier Monsun entered new industries with higher capacity needs, more abrasive materials, and continuously increasing operation requirements. This included large biomass plants, where stable operation and predictable performance are critical. Each new segment required us to learn, adapt, and refine our technical approach. We build our expertise by working in new environments, transferring proven principles, and expanding them to meet new operational demands.
Today, we design, produce, deliver, and install bulk handling systems ranging from single machines to fully integrated, turnkey plants. Our technical designers and project managers work closely with customers to design systems that meet defined capacity, availability, and lifecycle requirements. In addition to mechanical equipment, we deliver application-specific process control and system integration to ensure optimized and stable operation.
At Lachenmeier Monsun, we have a major part of our value chain in-house. That means a lot to us. We are almost independent of other suppliers and therefore much more in control of our supply chain. In 2020, we bought PAM A/S – an innovative bulk material handling factory specialized in the production of rotary valves, screw conveyors and solutions for pneumatic transport. PAM is situated in Odense and has modern production facilities and a strong engineering department.
The scale of our projects reflects this development. Lachenmeier Monsun systems handle more than 20 million tons of bulk materials annually at port terminals worldwide. Our equipment supports oil mills operating continuous 24/7 production and power plants processing over one million tons of biomass per year. Ship loading systems are designed for capacities exceeding 1,000 tons per hour, where downtime directly impacts operating cost.
Across industries - port and grain terminals, fish feed producers, feed & oil mills, power plants, and industrial processing industries - our systems are designed for stable operation under demanding conditions.
This is the result of decades of involvement, continuous learning, and engineering based on real operating experience.
